A Glendale mother has been charged with child abuse, after her three children who were reported missing around on Saturday in good condition.
Glendale police spent Saturday afternoon and evening actively searching for three children who went missing from their Glendale apartment.
Officers arrested the mother, 26-year-old Shawntaye Beavers, on one count of child abuse, and also on two outstanding misdemeanor warrants. Officer Tracey Breeden with the Glendale Police Department says a woman called police just before 1:00 pm on Saturday to report that her children were missing.
The woman told police that she left her 8-year-old, 4-year-old and 2-year-old children at home along around noon while she went to go run an errand.
When she returned to the home, the children were gone and there was no sign of forced entry at the home.
Since receiving the initial 911 call, Glendale police officers have been diligently searching the area of 6500 W Montebello Avenue, near 67th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
The 8-year-old child is Christian Schoonover. He is a white male, approximately 5-feet-5-inches tall and weighing 90 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing a yellow basketball style jersey.
The 4-year-old child is Lydia Zamora. She is a Hispanic female, approximately 3-feet-9-inches inches tall and around 35 to 40 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair and she has a scar in her mid-back area.
The 2-year-old child is LillyAnna Zamora. She is a Hispanic female with brown hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 3-feet-tall and weighs 30 pounds. She also has a small scar on her back.
Once again, the children were found in good condition late Saturday night.
The children will remain in the custody of the Department of Child Services, according to Glendale Police. In addition to her arrest on misdemeanor warrants for disorderly conduct and theft, Beavers may also face charges of child neglect, but police are still reviewing the case.
