Copper thieves have struck again, this time at the Arizona Humane Society.
The pipes were busted, crooks stole the copper and bailed.
"We got some very early morning text messages from our team stating that there was no running water for the facility," said Bretta Nelson.
Something so small is having a big impact on operations at the facility.
"Animal care team had to run out and purchase a lot of water for our animals, for cleaning purposes, and for them to drink, and then we had to cancel our vet surgeries and clinic appointments," said Nelson.
"The Starbucks on 19th Avenue has been amazing, letting us use their bathrooms," she said.
A 24-hour emergency team showed up just in time, but it's unknown when the crew will get water running at the facility.
The crooks stole copper from another part of the property several days ago, but that just impacted the irrigation lines, not the inside of the building.
