GLENDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ)
FOX 10 is getting a look into the Glendale apartment where a mother left her three young children alone for several hours, that later went missing. That mother was arrested on three counts of felony child abuse.
During the time that police were searching for the three children, we learned that the home that two of them lived in was dirty and unfit for children.
Twenty-six-year-old Shawntaye Beavers was arrested in March, accused of leaving her three children alone while she says she ran errands.
Glendale Police launched an extensive search operation for the children before they were found safe at a family members house.
Now Beavers is facing criminal charges of child abuse for leaving her 8, 4 and 2-year-old children alone.
The uncle took them in after finding them alone, he says he didn't call police because he thought he'd be in trouble for taking the children in since he's on parole.
Beavers also admitted to police that she uses heroin two times daily and syringes were kept in the top kitchen cabinet.
Inside the home officers found the one bedroom apartment filthy, it had numerous bugs crawling on the walls, a dirty toilet, and old food in the kitchen.
