GLENDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ)
A young man is dead after a fight led to gunshots in a Glendale neighborhood overnight.
Sgt. David Vidaure with the Glendale Police Department tells us that 28-year-old Christopher Warchol of Phoenix was shot after he got into a fight with a man named Marcus Green.
Vidaure says a group of friends, including Warchol and Green, had been out together Saturday night. When Warchol stopped to drop Green off, the two got into an argument.
Soon after the argument started, Green and Warchol got into a physical fight in which Green pulled out a handgun and shot Warchol, according to Vidaure.
Paramedics with the Glendale Fire Department tried to treat Warchol, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, Vidaure said.
Glendale Police took Green into custody and are currently interviewing him as part of this ongoing investigation.
