PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A valley woman accused of faking cancer to get a state-funded abortion was found guilty on all charges.
The jury has reached the following verdicts in State v Chalice Zeitner: Guilty on all counts.— MC Superior Court (@courtpio) April 25, 2016
Prosecutors say Zeitner told her obstetrician in 2010 that she had cancer and her pregnancy put her life in danger.
She was enrolled in the state's health care program for the poor, but the program would only cover abortions under limited circumstances, including when the mother's life is endangered.
After her pregnancy was aborted, authorities say information proving Zeitner falsified medical documents purporting that she had cancer were obtained.
