What would make the perfect Mother’s Day? How about giving birth to twins?
Well that's exactly what happened for one valley mother.
Fox 10's Danielle Miller joins us to tell us why today was extra special for her and the family.
This mother gave birth to her twins early this morning at Banner University Medical Center.
It may be hard to believe, but this isn't the first time this valley mom has received this type of gift on mother's day.
"Wow, it's going to be a lot of diapers," said new dad, Victor Otero.
Victor and Yvonne Otero are spending this Mother’s Day with their new twin baby girls.
"She said pull over because you might crash or something, so I pulled over and I couldn't believe it when she told me we were having twins," Victor said.
They were at the movies last night watching Captain America when they knew it was time.
"We sat through the movie and I just wasn't feeling right so we headed straight over here and sure enough two hours later we were delivering our babies through C-section," Yvonne said.
Mailani was born at 2:30 this morning weighing in at 6 pounds 8 ounces.
Her sister Lailani followed at 2:33 a.m., weighing 6 pounds 10 ounces.
"It's something hard to describe, words can't put into it how much love and excitement," said Yvonne.
This same excitement something Yvonne has felt before.
The now mother of 5 gave birth to her other daughter on Mother’s Day 7 years ago.
She says her girls are the best presents she could ask for.
"It's going to be hard on dad, he's going to have birthdays, mother’s day," said Yvonne.
The two say Captain America is one of their favorite movies, so they're glad the girls held off a little bit so they could enjoy it until the end.
