- Nestle Waters announced plans Friday to open a water bottling plant in the west valley. The plant is expected to fill 35 million gallons into an estimated 264 million bottles each year.

The company plans to hire 40-50 employees to run the plant which will be in a now vacant 395,000 square foot warehouse.

But not everyone is thrilled at the new plant. Critics say they are concerned that the state is in a drought and that the water should not be provided to a for-profit source.

Nestle says they will be paying the standard city water rate for the water they use.

The company plans to open the facility in early Spring 2017.
