A woman has been arrested for operating an unlicensed dental practice out of her Phoenix apartment.
Phoenix police say Elda Graciela Marguez De Zamora ran the unlicensed dental practice out of a makeshift office insider her Phoenix apartment.
Marguez De Zamora lives in Mexico but would drive to the Valley to perform dental services inside her apartment which was set up to look like an office with a waiting room. In the bedroom authorities say it had a dentists style chair and tools.
Police got a tip from someone at the complex, and they turned the case over to the Attorney Generals Office. Agents went undercover and posed as a patient as part of the investigation.
Neighbors at the complex near 51st Avenue and McDowell say they had no idea what was going on, but others were her customers. Court paperwork says they referred to her as "Mama Elda."
She is now facing several charges related to her arrest including fraud. She is being held on a $20,000 cash bond.
