Valley rescue center needs new van to continue helping injured animals

Many times the most important jobs are the toughest.

Nobody knows that better than Michelle McMains, co-founder of "On Angels Wings," a pet rescue organization that takes in the dogs everyone else has given up on.

"We lose a lot of our hospice guys, but they deserve to know that they've been loved and will be missed."

Within the pack you'll find crooked jaws, misshapen paws and ones that have just days to live.

But Michelle says that's the beauty of rescuing…just being there for another living creature.

“We typically take what none of the other rescues will take." "It’s not easy, we have to fundraise and we have to find funds for each and every dog."

Rescuers admit they have a hard time spending funds on anything other than the dogs, but there is one thing they're in desperate need of.

A new van.

With over 250,000 miles on it and no A/C, Michelle says the old one isn't safe.

“We kinda don’t like to spend money on anything but the dogs. There's so much that they need that we try not to take money away from them, so we purchased that van out of our own pocket and we just don’t really have the money to replace it right now."

Now Michelle, a born rescuer, is asking for other's help so she can continue to aid the ones who need it most.

"He’s old and hospice, but he’s also letting him live out the rest of his life as long as he's not hurting."
