- Emergency crews say one person has died and two others are injured after the group was struck by lightning in Northern Arizona.

The Coconino County Sheriff's Office got a call from hikers on Humphreys Peak saying they were struck by lightning.

Due to the extreme weather in the area emergency crews had to wait to attempt a rescue.

When they arrived at the group they found one hiker dead and began treating the other two patients.

The dead hiker is only identified as a 17-year-old male, the two injured victims at 17 and 18. All are from the Tempe area.
