Scottsdale police arrest suspect after standoff in Glendale

- A standoff between a suspect and Scottsdale police in Glendale near 43rd Avenue and Butler Drive has ended without incident.

Police served a narcotics search warrant at a home Friday morning shortly before 6:00 a.m. as part of an ongoing investigation.

"Initially, two females and one male surrendered and were detained. One male suspect refused to surrender and barricaded himself inside of the home," stated Sgt. Ben Hoster.

By 8:50 a.m., police say the male suspect was found hiding in the home's attic and he was immediately taken into custody.

"Some evacuations of surrounding homes did take place, however, the threat to the community was isolated to one residence, " added Hoster.

No names have been released in this case. The investigation continues.

Glendale police say this is a Scottsdale police situation; they were at the scene to make sure it was secure.
