AHWATUKEE, Ariz. (KSAZ)
Pistol, the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control pup that was found with his ears cut off, has found a forever home.
Maricopa County Animal Care and Control found Pistol in a bad shape about a month ago. They say it looks like someone tried to crop his ears with scissors.
His story caught people's attention right away. The shelter was flooded with calls of people looking to adopt him.
But the shelter was not going to let Pistol go to just anyone.
"So we did something a little different. We had people submit essays and we got about 30 submissions. A lot of them were really, really good. So it was a tough choice, but we did narrow it down to Julie and her family," said Melissa Gable from Maricopa County Animal Care and Control.
Pistol is now part of the Grant family.
His new "fur-ever" family plans to start him in agility training when he is a bit older.
And his family has created a Pistol fan page
