Police: 'Secondary search' underway for missing Buckeye boy

Police say a "secondary search" is underway for a Buckeye boy who has been missing for nearly a month.

Federal and local authorities in Arizona are searching a field for a 10-year-old boy who has been missing for nearly a month.

Buckeye Police Sgt. Jason Weeks says officers are walking through an undeveloped lot covered with brush and trees as part of what he called a secondary search.

He says authorities have been actively searching for Jesse Wilson since he went missing from his home near 239th Avenue and Twilight Trail on July 17th.  They want to double check areas that were previously searched.

Weeks says the case is still being investigated as a runaway and that no foul play has been identified.

Buckeye police, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and the FBI participated in Thursday's search.

Previous searches have involved drones, U.S. Border Patrol tracking dogs, and citizen volunteers.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
