Research: Zika virus could affect brain later in life

-
New research shows the Zika virus could affect the brain and cause dementia later in life.

The virus is known for causing birth defects but studies show it could also cause damage to cells in adult brains that could lead to memory loss down the road.

Doctors and researchers say these are early findings and more studies need to be done on the long-term effects of the Zika Virus.

They also say there is no link between the virus and those who have dementia already.
