HEBER-OVERGAARD, Ariz. (KSAZ) - A reward is being offered after two wild horses were found shot to death in Northern Arizona over the weekend.
According to the Salt River Wild Horse Management Group, the horses were found dead near the Heber Wild Horse Territory in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest.
It's believed that the horses were shot on Saturday.
"These are sentient and sensitive beings, they had a family, that family is going to grieve over there and it's the public of America as well that's going to grieve over them," Simone Netherlands said. "It really affects the public when someone does something this vicious to a wild horse that's not harming anyone."
In 2016, three horses were shot in the Salt River area, and one of the horses died.
Anyone with information is asked to call the U.S. Forest Service.
