Man from India hopes to break 'selfie' world record

- Selfies, they're what makes the social media world go 'round.

But for a young man living in India, selfies have become the center of his world. He's quit his job hoping to break a world selfie record, a record held by a famous face you might know who lives here in the valley.

You've probably heard of someone taking a lot of selfies, but how about someone quitting their job to set a world record? Meet Bhanu Prakash, a 24-year-old man living in Hyderabad, India. He quit his job at a hospital to spend his days taking selfies.

"I had to quit that job because it was my dream to do something big... I have a dream of becoming an actor and a model, a super-model," said Bhanu Prakash.

Now he is practicing taking selfies for hours at a time.

"I managed to take 1,723 in one hour," he said.

It's all part of his plan to beat the current world record of 1,449 selfies taken in one hour by Arizona Cardinals Cornerback Patrick Peterson.

Students at Deer Valley High School lined up to help Peterson, taking turns posing for pictures as he snapped away and shattered the previous selfie record.

Prakash says he is certain he can outdo the NFL star.

"Thank you, Peterson, you are my inspiration, and I'm sorry for breaking your record," said Prakash.

Prakash is attempting the world record in a few hours where he plans to snap his selfies at a school like Peterson.
