There is a new way to find out where to go and how to get there in Sedona, right from your smart phone.
SEDONA, Ariz. (KSAZ) -
Sedona's number one industry is tourism, known for its sunshine and Red Rock country.
"It's a 600 million dollar industry and nearly three million visitors visit our area each year."
Visitors from around the world like to hike and bike its trails.
"We are so excited to be the first ever in the country to provide text messaging services to our visitors," said Jennifer Wesselhoff, president and CEO of Sedona Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau.
Now anyone can "text" any question and get a quick answer.
The number to text is 1-800-288-7336.
The Sedona Chamber of Commerce started the service about a month ago.
"It started out slow but we are still receiving about 20 texts per day."
The most common question this time of the year?
"Are the colors changing in Oak Creek Canyon right now is a really hot topic and yes they are changing in Oak Creek Canyon right now and it's absolutely beautiful."
Remember that city of Sedona also has a law forbidding texting and driving.
