MESA, Ariz. (KSAZ) - All you need is about five minutes inside the Benson's home in Mesa and you'll realize boring days don't come too often.
Nineteen-month-old Jeremiah fits right in.
"He's going to have our last name... it's very exciting to know that he's going to be a Benson forever," Doug Benson said.
Doug and Jessica Benson will be making it official this Saturday at National Adoption Day. Jeremiah came to them as a foster almost a year ago, but they knew they couldn't let him go.
Just like they knew in 2014 with their 3-year-old adopted daughter, Mae.
"I think the biggest leaps of faith turn out to be the biggest blessings and it's scary, but it is so incredibly rewarding and these kids need homes and need people to love them and we would do it a million times over and over," Jessica said.
After learning how many kids need happy homes like theirs, they knew they needed to foster and quickly fell in love.
Meaning days like this will forever be the story of their lives.
