TEMPE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Tempe Police say they recovered the body of a missing man in his 30s in a lake, just feet away from the backdoor of a condominium.
Officials say they're telling us there are no signs of foul play, but say it still remains a mystery how that man ended up in the lake.
Dive crews entered the lake at the Harbour Village Condos near Baseline Road and Lakeshore Drive on Tuesday afternoon. They were looking for any sign of Michael Blossom, who was reported missing Sunday night around 6:00 p.m.
"We had officers respond in the areas for a welfare check for a white male in his 30s that didn't show up for work and that was highly unusual," said Tempe Police Sgt. Josie Montenegro.
Friends of the man and police began searching the property and found some of his belongings on the shore of the lake.
"It was then believed that the victim may be in the water," said Montenegro.
After only minutes of searching, dive teams located the man's body in the shallow, but murky water.
At this time, officials say foul play isn't suspected in the death and medical examiners will determine if any impairment was involved.
