GLENDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Kids and their parents lined up in Glendale and waited with excitement as Santa clause arrived.
“I'm going to get all excited and take a picture with him.”
Hundreds of families, including the Santiago's, met at the Glendale Youth Community Center to take a picture with Santa and even receive some free gifts.
“Ho, Ho, Ho Merry Christmas.”
Eight-year-old Arely couldn't wait to tell Santa what she wanted.
“Clothes and shoes and some bows for my hair.”
After waiting for hours in line-- the moment finally came.
“Can you give me clothes, shoes and bows -- we will see what we can do. Okay, thank you.”
Susie Santigo says the youth community center holds this event every year and they always attend.
“Very thankful because they're helping other kids to come and enjoy and see Santa and to get their gifts and their wishes come true.”
The center is doing what it can to make sure these kids have something to go home with for Christmas.
“It means a lot.” “There are kids in the community who may not get a gift for Christmas. There are kids that may get one or two. I’ve never seen anything like this before, so it means a lot to them, but it means a lot to the parents as well.”
“We get a lot of presents for my kids and also they give them shoes and stuff so yeah very thankful for everything for them for the community center.
