PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A two-year-old is dead, following a drowning accident in Phoenix Monday night.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by Sgt. Vince Lewis with Phoenix Police Department, the boy, now identified as Kevin Miranda, was pronounced dead at the hospital where he was taken to Monday night.
According to a brief statement issued by Cpt. Reda Bigler of the Phoenix Fire Department Monday night, the reported incident took place at the 7900 block of Cheery Lynn Road. In a statement released by Sgt. Lewis Monday night, officers were called to the house for a "check welfare" call. When officers arrived, they found Kevin in the pool. The father reportedly pulled Kevin out of the poll, and when police arrived, they immediately began CPR.
There was no fence around the pool, according to Sgt. Lewis, and the child and family were visiting at the home.
