The effects of the monsoon are still being felt by one local business. The Plant Stand of Arizona, a plant and pottery distribution center was hit hard by the storm and a land spout tornado could have been the cause.

All of this damage happened on August 3, but as you can see crews are still busy cleaning this mess up and the clean up is far from over.

"I've never seen anything like this. I don't think there's too many people in the state that have seen anything like this unless they're from the midwest,"  said owner Eddie Smith.

Massive monsoon storms ripped through the valley. In its path of destruction, The Plant Stand of Arizona near Southern and 28th Street. Around 5:00 p.m. that day, strong winds and heavy rain whipped through the property, flattening an entire greenhouse.

"It's probably going to take us the better part of a month or a month and a half, who knows though. It's a long process," said Smith.

Plants and pottery inside the greenhouse were also destroyed.

"After the storm, product has been thrown all over our 18 acre facility. There's plants that were all over in the south part of the facility. Pieces of greenhouse down the street," added Smith.

Smith says they've been in the business for 36 years and never seen anything like this. He's hoping they never do again. They'll be holding several sales to help recoup some of the cost.

"To build these types of greenhouses is a half million dollars, plus the product. All the material that's been lost. We're looking close to a million dollars," he said.
