3 inmates escape from Border Patrol custody, 1 remains on the loose

Three inmates escaped from Border Patrol custody on Tuesday night and one remains on the loose.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection tells Fox 10 the three inmates were being transported by bus from Ajo to Casa Grande when they escaped through a ceiling hatch when the bus was stopped at a traffic light near Trekell and Florence Boulevard in Casa Grande.

One of the inmates has been taken into custody, early Wednesday. Another identified as Augusto Daniel Chavez-Sosa was taken into custody in the afternoon. A third inmate identified as Heriberto Castellanos-Uribe remains on the run.

Border Patrol officers and Casa Grande police continue to search for the escaped inmate.
