3 suspects arrested following overnight home invasion

Police say three men broke into an apartment near 67th Avenue and Indian School just after 10 p.m. Tuesday and the good news is that those suspects are in custody.

Authorities say two older men were inside the home when the suspects forced their way inside. A neighbor heard what was happening and called 9-1-1. The suspects took off from the scene, but one of them broke into another apartment in an attempt to hide from police.

"During the course of the search, one of the suspects did commit a second home invasion in his attempt to elude us, but he was bit by a K-9 during the course of his apprehension," said Lt. Thatcher of the Phoenix Police Department.

We're told a family was inside that apartment, but no one was injured.

Police aren't sure why the suspects targeted the victims at this time.

The suspects' names have not been released, but they're described to be in their 20s or 30s.
