Large brawl overnight at Tempe American Legion post

Tempe Police say a large fight overnight led to the sound of gunfire, causing an ASU football player to suffer minor injuries.

Police responded to a shots fired call at the American Legion Post in Tempe at about 2:15am at 2125 S. Industrial Avenue. When they arrived, more than 200 drivers were trying to leave the area. Police say there were as many as 300 people on the scene.

Police say a large fight had broken out involving a large number of people, but there was little information about what led up to the fight. Officers say nobody was hit by the gunfire, and they have not received reports of any victims with gunshot wound injuries. Police confirm they did find evidence of shots fired and blood in the parking lot, which they believe stemmed from a fist fight.

One of the victims who was interviewed by officers was ASU linebacker Deonte Reynolds, but police say he was not injured.

There have been no arrests in this case. Tempe Police are continuing their investigation.
