PHOENIX - Crews were on the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on 51st Avenue near Interstate 10 on Tuesday.
"Initial patient count included four adults and three children. Extrication was required for one or more of the occupants," stated Phoenix Fire Department Captain Jake Van Hook.
Van Hook added, "A 39-year-old female was transported in critical condition with an injury to her arm that has been described as an amputation, however the details of this have not been confirmed."
A 60-year-old man was transported to a trauma center in extremely critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
"Two adult males have refused transportation and the three children, ages ranging from 2 -11, are being described as being in stable condition are being transported by a family, not Phoenix Fire, for further evaluation," said Van Hook.
The Department of Public Safety is investigating this case and no names have been released.
Sgt. Vince Lewis of the Phoenix Police Department says the collision does not appear to involve a stolen vehicle.
