University of Arizona dean charged with sexual assault

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — The Pima County Sheriff's Department says a University of Arizona administrator has been charged with sexual assault, sexual abuse and aggravated assault.

Jessie Lyle Bootman is the dean of the College of Pharmacy. He was indicted and arraigned on Wednesday.

The sheriff's office says Bootman is suspected of sexually assaulting a woman at his home on Oct. 2. They say detectives found incriminating evidence while executing a search warrant at Bootman's house.

It's unclear whether Bootman has an attorney to comment. He's been the dean of the pharmacy college since 1987.
