PHOENIX (KSAZ) - I-10 West at US 60 has re-opened after a tanker truck fire closed the roadway for several hours on Monday morning.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety tells Fox 10 that the truck was filled with herbicide and their hazmat worked on the scene to extinguish the fire.

DPS says the driver of the truck made it out safely. A tow company removed the entire commercial vehicle from the interstate.
Due to the fire, all westbound lanes on I-10 at US 60 were closed for several hours.

During the closure, ADOT recommended drivers use Loop 202 Santan east to the Loop 101, and then go north to US 60 to I-10 West as an alternate route.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by DPS.
