SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Two men were arrested following a bar fight on Sunday that left a woman with serious injuries.
The Pinal County Sheriff's Office tells Fox 10 that 35-year-old Christopher Russell punched a 56-year-old woman at the Gym Bar and Grill just after 2 a.m. Witnesses say the woman fell and hit her head on pavement after being punched by Russell.
Sheriff's deputies also say that 24-year-old Mark Melanson punched the bar manager after he was asked to leave when the bar was closing. At first, Melanson refused and tried to punch the bar manager. However, after being convinced by bar patrons to leave, Melanson hit the bar manager after he was being escorted outside.
After falling to the ground, Russell walked up to the bar manager, and put him in a choke hold, which caused him to pass out.
The injured woman remains in critical condition with a serious head injury.
Both Russell and Melanson were booked into Pinal County Jail on charges of assault and disorderly conduct. Russell is also charged with aggravated assault and felony disorderly conduct.
