Fire crews work to extinguish Mulch fire burning in the North Valley

Phoenix Fire crews are still working to put out a mulch fire that started Wednesday afternoon.

The fire is burning near I-17 & Jomax in the North Valley. 

Captain Ardell Deliz with Phoenix Fire says the fire is smoldering and expected to burn for several days.

A total of eight acres of smoldering green waste and mulch are burning. Firefighters are bringing in additional equipment to extinguish the blaze.

Maricopa County Air Quality Experts are monitoring the air quality conditions from the fire.
