AVONDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - A valley woman says thieves broke into her house and took something irreplaceable.
"They just took my daughter's bag of ashes and left the box," said Krystal Lazarin.
When Krystal Lazarin came home from a job fair, she found her Avondale home ransacked.
"All my cupboards were open, all my bathroom cabinets were gone through, everything was open, the door was open, and I walked into my bedroom and the first thing I see is she is gone," said Lazarin.
The small box sat on her dresser and contained the ashes of her baby daughter who died six hours after birth.
"Who in their right mind would want to take ashes from a mother. It's hard enough to have lost her, and now to lose what I have left of her. I just felt that even though I know she is not living, like I couldn't protect her and that I lost her all over again," said Lazarin.
Lazarin is in the process of moving so she thinks whoever did this had been watching her and waiting for the right time. The thieves also took some jewelry and electronics, but they are replaceable.
"Honestly I just hope that someone brings her back. I don't care if they are punished or go to jail, I just want my ashes back," said Lazarin.
