MESA, Ariz. (KSAZ) - They met while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and fell in love; now they're celebrating one of the most patriotic days by saying their vows.
The bride and groom were married years ago by a Justice of the Peace but never got to experience the big, traditional ceremony they'd dreamed of. That changed today when two dozen businesses came together to give them a free wedding. From the DJ to the food, to the wedding ring.
Jenna and Jonathan Baker are celebrating their dream wedding for free all thanks to an online contest run just for veterans.
"She just came up to me and said we have to enter this contest, I didn't think we'd have a chance to win," said Baker.
Their winning video submission earned them everything they needed for the big day at the Views at Superstition Springs.
"Value, I would say between $20-25,000, and it's a really nice wedding and everybody's gone above and beyond to just be able to give them the wedding of their dreams," said Tracy Machajewski.
It's the first time that the bride and groom's families have all been together. The couple exchanged their vows at sunset with their two boys, and the love of friends and family.
"It was more than what we dreamed like I couldn't have fathomed everyone being as amazing that they are, it's just beautiful," said Jennafer Baker.
"Jenna, my daughter you know a Marine for eight years and went to Afghanistan and served. Now she gets to have this beautiful wedding that she never got to get, and it's just incredible," said Gwyn Smith Winkler.
Jenna's family wasn't able to attend the couple's first wedding years back, so the bride and groom were especially happy to have them here at the ceremony. They thank the Marine Corps for bringing them together, and for the reason they received such an amazing wedding.
