- The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation made a record donation to a valley organization helping LGBTQ youth.

One-N-Ten is a non-profit organization that helps the youth with safe and supportive housing. The donation of $501,072 will help the organization with the housing service and allowing them to hire a development director and program coordinator.

"Our housing program is one of the largest in the Valley and unlike other programs One-N-Ten provides more than just a bed. We offer a new way of life for youth whose families and loved ones may have rejected them,” said Linda Elliot.

Experts say while the LGBTQ population is only 10% in the United States, the LGBTQ population of homeless youth is close to 40%.

“The unfortunate truth is that LGBTQ youth can be faced with challenges that put them at higher risk for homelessness,” said Bob Parsons. “Everyone, especially at-risk teenagers, need a safe and encouraging environment to flourish; one•n•ten is providing just that.”
