53-year-old Casa Grande school employee accused of luring high school student

Officials with Casa Grande Police said Monday a 53-year-old has been booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center, in connection with an ongoing investigation involving him and a 15-year-old female high school student.

According to a statement released Monday, the man, identified as Anthony Martinez, turned himself to police on Sunday, and is facing a count of alleged luring a minor for sexual exploitation. Martinez, according to Casa Grande Police, was an employee of Vista Grande High School at the time of the reported incident, and the alleged victim is a student at Vista Grande.

According to Casa Grande Police, staff members at Vista Grande were made aware of potential inappropriate text messages between Martinez and the female student on August 30. School officials then contacted Casa Grande Police, which led to the investigation.
