Five people were killed in a deadly head-on crash near Sun Lakes on Sunday night.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office tells Fox 10 that the collision happened near Dobson Road and Hunt Highway at about 8 p.m. A mile-long stretch of Hunt Highway between Dobson and Alma School was closed for most of the night due to the crash.

Four of the victims were in one car and the fifth was in the second vehicle. Initially, four people were reported killed in the crash, but a fifth person who was transported to a hospital has died.

"We're looking at all aspects of this accident; what caused it and we're not ruling out impairment or speed at this time," said Officer Chris Hegsterom.

Late Monday afternoon officials released the name of the five deceased victims. The victims are 86-year-old Frank Hooper, 85-year-old Ella Hooper, 65-year-old Steven Hooper, and 56-year-old Janice Mertens were inside one vehicle. Thirty-two-year-old Secundino Fabela was in the other vehicle.
