Phoenix Fire Department crews responded to a first-alarm high-rise fire, which turned out to be a fire in the pump for the building's sprinkler system.
Crews responded to the fire at about 12:15pm and when crews arrived at the high-rise near Central and Thomas they encountered heavy smoke and balanced the assignment to a first alarm fire.
According to spokesperson with Phoenix Fire, a small contents fire was burning in the basement in the engineering room.
A few firefighters are remaining on the scene to clean up, but there are no reports of any injuries.
Crews on the scene say it appears the pump to the sprinkler system in the building had caught fire, sparking the small blaze.
