Several injured in light rail crash

- Police say a car ran a red light and crashed into the side of a light rail train, leaving a total of six people injured.

The light rail was shut down at the I-10 and Jefferson after the driver of a Honda Accord t-boned the light rail train that was carrying three passengers inside.  The collision happened just before 11pm on Saturday night.  A total of six people were injured, three of them were on the train and three were inside the vehicle.

Three people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and those people were all light rail passengers.  The three people aboard the Honda only suffered minor injuries and refused treatment.  Police say the driver did run a red light and t-boned the train.  We're told impairment is not a factor in the collision.
