Arizona Cardinals owner celebrates team's success

- Michael Bidwill is the President of the Arizona Cardinals, but the team is still owned by his father, Bill Bidwill.

"Mr B." as he was known to many Cardinals players and fans is now 84-years-old and doesn't walk the sidelines as he once did.

But he is still enjoying his team's success.

He's the longest-tenured owner in the National Football League, taking control of his father's team since 1962. For decades, Bill Bidwill was a fixture on the sidelines of Cardinals games.

"He's really happy with how the team is doing, he's not a spring chicken anymore, and, all things considered, he's doing pretty well," said Michael Bidwill.

Bill moved the St. Louis Cardinals to Arizona in 1988. He was promised a new stadium on a handshake deal by the leaders who enticed the NFL team to this growing desert city.

But that stadium did not materialize, and there were some lean years playing in Sun Devil Stadium both in fans and wins. Bidwill said all of that would change with the new revenue brought in by a stadium the team could call their own; it turns out he was right.

"When you look at the 18 seasons we've played, we've sold out all 104 of those games," said Michael.

Some of those games have been awesome, and the way Michael and his parents celebrate those big victories might surprise you.

"They watch all the games at home, and I've got standing orders for pig wings. Getting pig wings after every win," said Michael.

Michael says one of his dad's proudest moments in his 54 years as owner was hoisting the NFC Championship Trophy in 2009, and Michael thinks he can do one better for his dad.

"He just doesn't come out to the games as much as he used to, but we're going to have him out to Santa Clara when we're playing in the Super Bowl, so I'm excited to have him there," said Michael.
