East coast weather may ruin football fans' travel plans

Arizona Cardinals fans heading to Charlotte, North Carolina for the NFC Championship game are going to have a lot of trouble getting there.

- Arizona Cardinals fans heading to Charlotte, North Carolina for the NFC Championship game are going to have a lot of trouble getting there.

Thousands of flights across the country were canceled due to the storm, including all American Airlines flights to Charlotte. That's the only airline that offers direct flights from Phoenix to CLT Airport.  

The carrier is also expected to cancel flights to other major cities along the east coast on Saturday.

Other carriers have already canceled flights for early Saturday morning, while some will attempt to fly to CLT later in the day.
