81-year-old dead following Tuesday crash in Scottsdale

An 81-year-old man has died, following an accident Tuesday outside a supermarket in Scottsdale.

According to a statement released by Scottsdale Police Wednesday, 81-year-old Michael Ebertin was one of the people struck in an incident on the 10000 block of N. Scottsdale Road. According to information police released at the time, a midsize SUV driven by a 70-year-old woman was driving in the parking lot to the front of the supermarket when the car drove up on the sidewalk to the front of the store, and struck two men before coming to a stop just short of the store.

The two men, according to police at the time, were taken to hospital, while the driver, who was not hurt, cooperated with investigators. Impairment, according to police on Tuesday, did not appear to be a factor.
