Heroin abuse is a big problem throughout the country and here in Arizona. Now a new bill introduced in the Arizona legislature would make it easier for loved ones of users to help out in case of an overdose.
The legislation would allow loved ones to administer Naloxone which counters the effects of an opiate overdose, drugs like heroin and oxycontin.
Currently only doctors and first responders can administer the drug, but the legislation would make it available over the counter.
