Man arrested, claims he stabbed family members in self-defense

- A man claims he stabbed three of his family members in self-defense after the group confronted him about abusing his wife.

The Pinal County Sheriff's Office says 32-year-old Timothy Ingraham admitted to stabbing his mother-in-law, father-in-law and brother-in-law after the three accused him of assaulting his 29-year-old wife on January 31.

Deputies say the three family members confronted Ingraham about a domestic violence incident that happened on January 30. Ingraham says the three came to his house in the 3700 block of South Henness Road and accused him of assaulting his wife.

During the confrontation, Ingraham stabbed the three and then left the scene on foot, while being chased by his family members. He later returned to the home and was arrested by sheriff's deputies, who had arrived on the scene.

Ingraham denies that he assaulted his wife, but deputies say she suffered injuries consistent that are consistent to an assault. Ingraham's wife did not call police on the night of the alleged domestic violence incident, but she called her mother about the assault.

Ingraham will be held in Pinal County Jail and is awaiting charges related to the domestic violence incident.
