PHOENIX (AP) -- A man who pleaded guilty in a wrong-way freeway accident that killed an off-duty Phoenix Fire Department dispatcher has been sentenced to 14 years in prison.
Maricopa County Superior Court officials say 40-year-old Stephen Brant Martin was sentenced Friday and will be on three years of supervised probation after serving his prison term.
Martin pleaded guilty last November to one count of second-degree murder and three counts of endangerment.
Megan Lange was fatally injured on Jan. 27, 2015 as she drove home after her dispatcher shift ended and her vehicle collided head-on with Martin's vehicle on Interstate 17.
The 26-year-old Lange was a married mother of two young children.
Prosecutors say Martin recklessly caused Lange's death under circumstances showing extreme indifference to human life.
