ADOT proposes rail line connecting Phoenix and Tucson

The Arizona Department of Transportation is asking the public for feedback about the possibility of a passenger rail line connecting Phoenix and Tucson.

ADOT says the rail line would have an express service, which would have only a few stops between the two cities, and a local service, which would make several more stops.

Because the rail line plan is in its beginning stages, ADOT is asking the public if they believe the project is feasible for both cities and ideas on how to generate funding. Currently, there is no funding or construction schedule for the project.

ADOT has scheduled three public hearings regarding the rail line and the dates and times of the meetings are below:

The deadline for all public comments is Oct. 30 and you can submit comments by emailing projects@azdot.gov.
