Amber Alert canceled: 12-year-old Safford girl found in New Mexico

An Amber Alert has been canceled after a 12-year-old Safford girl, who was last seen on Monday, has been found in New Mexico.

According to the Graham County Sheriff's Office, Savinya Kimball and her alleged abductor, 34-year-old Lawrence Halamek, were spotted walking along Highway 70 just before 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

Investigators believe Halamek's truck may have broken down, forcing the pair to walk along the highway. He has been taken into custody by New Mexico authorities and will be arrested.

Kimballa was last seen on Monday at 6:30 a.m., at a bus stop at the intersection of Stockton Road and Swift Trail in Safford.

According to detectives, Savinya Kimball she was traveling with Halamek in a 2001 blue Dodge Dakota quad cab pickup truck with Arizona temporary license plate T941407. The original Arizona license plate is BXK5994.

Savinya is described as a white female, 4'10" tall, 70 pounds with shoulder length black hair and blue eyes. The left side of her head is shaved. She was last seen wearing black pants and a sweater with the Arizona Diamondbacks team on it.

Halamek is described as a white male, 6'0" tall, 182 pounds with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a red shirt, black pants and a camouflage jacket.

It's unclear what the relationship is between Kimball and Halamek or where they might be headed.
