And baby makes 9: Couple welcomes 7th child after having quints in 2014

There are surprises and then there are surprises! Remember when we introduced you to the Hoffmans last year? The Glendale couple was celebrating the 1-year birthday of their quintuplets.

Now the family is back before the cameras this year, but they have another surprise: a newborn baby boy!

They're busy as they keep up the routine with their 9-year-old son, their quints who are now 20-months-old, but oh baby, no one expected the news they received last year.

And baby makes nine, but it was a bit of a surprise for Roxana Hoffman and her husband, Michael.

"It's been a very exciting journey," said Michael.

Stationed at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, the Hoffmans have 9-year-old son Conner and in 2014 with the help of fertility treatments, they have a set of quints: four girls and a boy.

"Aurora, Briella, Delilah, Felicity and Eli," said Conner.

Last year, while Roxanna was being tested for possible kidney stones, "..doctor came back and said hey, we can't do the procedure and we're like, why? Because you're pregnant. We're like, no we're not and well, nine months later, yes, we were," said Michael.

Gideon Hoffman, the seventh child for the couple, was born a few days ago. The couple has been practicing with the 20-month-old quints on welcoming their new baby brother.

"..we've been practicing with baby dolls and big sibling books, but I don't think they've quite grasped the concept yet," said Roxanna.

Toddler pandemonium broke out when the quints were taken out of their stroller.

The Hoffmans handle it all with a smile -- now the parents of a 9-year-old, five 2-year-olds and an infant.

"..had years of infertility before them. I was on birth control and he had an appointment set up and scheduled and along came this one. We always said it was meant to be for some reason.. he is officially the last one for us," said Roxanna.

The Hoffmans are being transferred to an Air Force Base in Georgia and will be leaving Arizona in April. We hope to keep track of them and celebrate milestones from afar.
