Animal Welfare League prepares for 20th annual Walk to Save Animals
PHOENIX, Ariz. (KSAZ) - The Arizona Welfare League is preparing for their biggest fundraiser of the year.
Dogs are donning their flower crowns and tie-dye shirts for the Walk to Save Animals event. This year's theme-- peace, love, adopt--paying homage to the 60s.
"We're celebrating our 20th Walk to Save Animals on November 3 at Tempe Town Lake," said Whitney Steele with the Arizona Animal Welfare League.
This fundraising event is huge for the state's oldest and largest no kill shelter. Every year, on average, they rescue, rehabilitate and re-home 4,000 animals.
This money helps them keep doing what they're doing. Although we're still a few weeks away, organizers are hoping for a big turn out.
"Anyone participates in a 2k or 5k fun walk, no pressure, there's no time limit, do the course that best suits your activity level," says Steele.
Adoptable dogs will also be available at the event. For more information about the event, or to register, visit their website walktosaveanimals.org.
