PHOENIX (KSAZ) - On Wednesday, officials with the Arizona Lottery announced that some Pick 3 tickets can be returned for an exchange or a refund.
According to a statement posted on the Arizona Lottery website, players with non-winning Pick 3 tickets that were purchases from November 15 to November 21 can return their tickets, while winning tickets will be honored and paid out, due to a duplicate draw of numbers.
Pick 3 is an in-state lottery game that is offered by the Arizona Lottery.
According to the statement, the numbers "8-0-4" were drawn on October 9, November 15, and November 21. Meanwhile, the numbers "4-0-3" were drawn on November 1 and November 20, and the numbers "7-9-0" were drawn on November 8 and November 17. The machine that drew the recent Pick 3 numbers from November 15 to 21, according to the statement, was named RNG 1, which has been taken out of operation.
According to the statement, the Arizona Lottery will use the Multi-State Lottery Association's lottery draw machine for all in-state games, until December 11, when it will use its new RNG machines that were purchased in August 2017.
According to the statement, numbers can and do duplicate within the Pick 3's odds structure, but the machine was removed from operations on November 21, after the numbers "8-0-4" were drawn for the third time. An investigation is underway on the machine.
