Armed robbery ends in high-speed police pursuit

Two suspects were arrested early Friday morning after robbing two men at gunpoint and then leading police on a high-speed chase.

The Phoenix Police Department tells Fox 10 that at about 1:30 a.m., a man and woman approached two men, who were sitting in their car near Seventh Lane and Vineyard, and asked them for a ride. After the victims refused to give the couple a ride, the woman pulled out a gun and demanded the victims' cell phone and vehicle.

After leaving in the stolen vehicle, the suspects were discovered by police near I-17 and Grant at about 4:30 a.m. The suspects saw police and fled on westbound I-10 at a high-rate of speed. They then exited at 67th Avenue and returned to the eastbound freeway.

After getting off the freeway at Seventh Avenue, the suspects hit a semi-truck and ran from their vehicle. They were quickly taken into custody by police.

The victim's cell phones were recovered and the two suspects will be charged with armed robbery and felony flight.
