A family needs a new place to stay after an overnight house fire in west Phoenix, but they're all okay, thanks to some alert neighbors.

Five adults, including one person who is wheelchair bound live in the home near 63rd Avenue and Thomas.

Firefighters say the home did not have working smoke detectors, but some neighbors spotted the flames a little after 1:00 a.m.

One neighbor went to another house and together they tried to alert the residents to the fire. So those neighbors woke up more people in the area and they were eventually able to get the family to leave the burning home.

When crews arrived at the scene, they put the fire out quickly.

Officials say the fire started in a storage area, which burned out the home's electrical system.

Investigators believe this fire may have been started on purpose and they've taken one person into custody.
